Tooth whitening

Internal and external methods

Everyone’s teeth colour is different, based on external factors, such as lifestyle, food and drink consumption and medicines intake.

Tooth whitening is a cosmetic (aesthetic) procedure that removes discolouration and makes teeth whiter and brighter. Before commencing your teeth whitening, we recommend a visit to our hygienist for a scale and air-flow stain removal.

Internal whitening is a method reserved for front teeth that have undergone root canal treatment and have had their nerves extracted. Over time, such teeth change colour due to the various pastes used to fill the root canals. This type of whitening is applied by your dentist in the dental office during a pain-free procedure.

External whitening can be done either at our dental surgery or at home. If you wish to perform the procedure at home, you will need custom-made appliances (trays) that your dentist can prescribe. Find out more about each procedure by calling us today.
