Invisalign
The invisible “braces”
Toothopia offers orthodontic treatment with Invisalign for moderately to severely misaligned teeth. Your dentist will evaluate the suitability of your case for this type of clear aligners, commonly known as their brand name, Invisalign.
Invisalign comprises a series of custom-made transparent splints called aligners. They are discreet, removable trays that can be taken off while eating and tooth-brushing. The maintenance of oral hygiene is the easiest with Invisalign, as compared to traditional metal braces, which provides a higher level of comfort for the patient.
Depending on the severity of the problem, you will be assigned a different number of Invisalign aligners, each of which is to be worn for about 2 weeks. Each successive alignment helps the teeth move closer to the desired position. Your dentist will be continuously monitoring your progress. The whole treatment lasts an average of 6-18 months.
It is important to note that not all cases of dental misalignment can be corrected with Invisalign. Therefore, your first appointment will be focused on assessment and treatment recommendation.
All types of dental braces improve not only the aesthetics of your smile, but more importantly, your oral hygiene, health and ability to bite and chew. Depending on the case, your dentist will determine exactly what type of braces you need and will propose a treatment course that requires regular adjustments. Orthodontic treatment is a process that can take a few months to a couple of years, depending on the severity of the problem. It requires commitment from patients to show up for regular check ups and brace adjustments, as well as to clean and maintain their teeth every day during treatment.
